4. Operating Modes Explained

Understanding the different operating modes is crucial for effective use of your remote control switch.

  • 4.1. Momentary Mode

In Momentary mode, the connected device will remain ON only as long as the remote control button is pressed. Releasing the button will turn the device OFF. This mode is ideal for applications requiring temporary activation, such as garage door openers or electric locks.

Figure 5: Illustration of Momentary mode: Press and hold button to turn ON, release to turn OFF.

  • 4.2. Toggle Mode

Toggle mode functions like a standard light switch. Pressing the remote button once will turn the connected device ON, and pressing the same button again will turn it OFF. This mode is suitable for general lighting control.

  • 4.3. Latched Mode

Latched mode uses two distinct buttons for ON and OFF functions. Pressing button 'A' (or a designated ON button) will turn the device ON, and it will remain ON until button 'B' (or a designated OFF button) is pressed. This mode is useful for applications where separate ON/OFF controls are preferred.

  • 4.4. Default Original State

When configured to Default Original State, the receiver will remember its last ON/OFF status. If power is interrupted and then restored, the device will revert to the state it was in before the power loss. This ensures continuity of operation for critical systems.

5. Maintenance

The SWITNEX Wireless Remote Control Switch is designed for durability and requires minimal maintenance. Keep the receiver and transmitters clean and dry. Avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures or humidity. If the remote control range decreases, consider replacing the battery in the transmitter.
